AI in community banking is no longer simply a technology question; it is an organizational question. In this keynote, Craig McLaughlin will show how credit unions can use AI to strengthen, not replace, the “people helping people” mission by creating more relevant, personalized digital experiences.
The platforms exist. The vendors are abundant. The roadmaps are already on the strategic plan. What is missing inside most credit unions is the operating model that lets AI translate into deposit growth, member engagement, and competitive separation.
This session frames the three phases of AI adoption from Add to Reset, examines why incumbent institutions are structurally disadvantaged, outlines the structural shifts that close the gap, and gives leaders a practical 90-day starting point for resetting the DNA of the institution around AI-native growth.
Craig McLaughlin is the CEO of Finalytics.ai and a veteran digital strategist with more than two decades of experience helping financial institutions translate strategy into measurable growth. He founded Extractable in 1999, building it into a nationally recognized digital strategy consultancy that worked with Visa, Charles Schwab, Wells Fargo, and leading credit unions across the country.
In 2021, Craig launched Finalytics.ai to address the execution gap he had watched for two decades: financial institutions investing heavily in digital platforms, analytics, and marketing tools, yet still delivering generic experiences. Finalytics unifies anonymous and authenticated behavioral signals to deliver segment-of-one personalization across websites, applications, and online banking without ripping out existing infrastructure.
Craig holds a BSBA from the University of San Diego and an MS in Information Systems from Hawaii Pacific University.
