LINO LAKES, MN – Sharetec System, one of the fastest growing core systems offering the technology of simplicity, is pleased to announce that PortalPay - an innovative digital payment solution offered through the Sharetec/Allied Payment Network partnership - is gaining momentum as it brings significant advantages to numerous credit unions across the country. One such credit union that is experiencing the benefits of PortalPay is LorMet Community Federal Credit Union of Amherst, Ohio.

After extending its partnership in 2017 with PortalPay’s creator, Allied Payment Network, Sharetec has been able to offer its credit unions this advanced web-based loan payment solution that is easily and quickly installed with no integrations required, and that greatly simplifies and improves the loan payment process.

According to Shavena Brown, LorMet’s Chief Operations Officer, their financial institution was seeking a loan payment option that would automatically post to the member’s account. With their previous vendor, payments that were not processed through the member’s online banking were manually posted to the account by LorMet’s back office staff. Looking to improve their processes, they decided to request a demo of the PortalPay solution to determine if the product would serve their precise digital loan payment needs. With over 200 loans processed each month, LorMet realized that they required a solution that would easily manage this high volume and satisfy members’ needs in the process.

LorMet was pleased that PortalPay immediately simplified and improved its loan payment processes, and they are continuing to enjoy
several key benefits from the solution. “Members can make one time payments at no charge using their checking account information whenever they choose, from any device, and can continue to make payments using their debit card,” Shavena remarks. “Back office staff can access the administration site to check the status of and research payments, and even make payments on a member’s behalf. And all payments are automatically posted to the account. Screens are user friendly and we can provide custom verbiage within the disclosure boxes to simplify the member-user’s experience.”

According to Shavena, PortalPay provides the easy access that members demand to easily and quickly make loan payments from their mobile devices. “PortalPay is a great alternative to mailing a check. It reduces the loan payment period from seven days - which may include writing the check, purchasing stamps, placing the payment in the mail and allowing three days for delivery and one for processing - to two to three days, by simply processing the payment online with the payment processed the next day,” she notes.

LINO LAKES, MN – Sharetec System, one of the fastest growing core systems offering the technology of simplicity, reports that their annual Sharetec Users Conference, which took place at Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resorts in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, on September 15-18, 2019, was a tremendous success. With attendance reaching staggering numbers, the conference presented an excellent opportunity for participating credit unions to gain invaluable knowledge, networking and motivation.

Engagement among participants was at an all-time high as Sharetec credit unions took advantage of numerous conference opportunities. Networking with other Sharetec users and meeting the Sharetec support team were well received, as were the informative workshops designed for maximum benefit. This year, credit union representatives attended sessions that addressed a wide range of key topics, including the Benefits of Cross-Selling, IT Tips and Troubleshooting, Getting the Most Out of Sharetec’s e-Services and Custom Financials. Additionally, attendees had an opportunity to meet various business partners and knowledgeable speakers, who provided insight on how to implement solid business strategies and increase membership.

As a participant at the 2019 event, Stacey Heiser, Corry Federal Credit Union, stresses that she regularly looks forward to attending the Sharetec Users Conference for its many benefits and opportunities. “I always gain new information on what our system can do,” she remarks. “I also appreciated the time to network with other credit union staffI made some good contacts to take back with me. Another highlight of the conference was Guest Speaker Louie Gravance’s presentation, “You have to do what you DON’T have to do, in order to win.” Through his speaking and consulting skills, Mr. Gravance is renowned for literally changing the consciousness of business in America. Conference participants were thrilled to attend his motivational session which focused on topics relevant to the credit union industry, such as providing excellence in customer service.

With over 50 employees working for Sharetec for more than a decade, it’s an impressive accomplishment for both the team members and Sharetec. These long-time employees work in a variety of areas including Conversion, Support, Accounting, and Programming. Having dedicated employees gives customers peace of mind that Sharetec has the experience and knowledge to provide them with the best support and service possible. This longevity allows customers to develop a long-standing relationship with their Sharetec representative, as well as with other team members they may need to communicate with for a variety of reasons.

Reaching their 20-year milestone this year, Tania Lowder and Michelle Huff have served Sharetec as dedicated, efficient team members, and have been of great value to Sharetec credit unions. Each day Tania and Michelle demonstrate their devotion and hard work through their continued success as part of the experienced, knowledgeable Sharetec team.

Tania Lowder currently fills the role of Quality Analyst/Director of Technical Sales Support for Sharetec. She has also held a few other positions like Tier 2 Support and Conversion Manager. As a valued team member for over two decades, Tania enjoys many aspects of her position, like meeting new people at Sharetec credit unions and problem solving, which keeps each day different and interesting.

Michelle Huff has been Sharetec’s Accounting Assistant for many years, previously holding the position of Accounts Payable Clerk. She has also had the pleasure of helping at our reception desk when needed, and working in the Office Source Forms Department. When in the office, Michelle feels as though she is working with family. Over the years she has made great connections with many co-workers, and developed valued relationships with Sharetec credit unions.
